ABOUT THE KNIFEMAKER

texas handmade knivesI am Ben Pruitt of Pruitt Bladeworks located in Georgetown Texas. My passion for handcrafted knives was fueled by my grandfather who was always collecting and trading knifes.

My 4th grade elementary teacher Mr Harland Kelting was also a major influence. Harland was a new knife maker at the time and would show me the knifes he was working on throughout the school year which always fascinated me. At the end of the year, he gave me a partially completed knife he had forged and told me I needed to finish it. I still have that knife and although it was never finished, there was a fire lit that simmered over of the years… A few years ago, I reached a point in my life that allowed me to dedicate the resources and time to pursue my dream of making knives. Knives that are not only durable and functional, but assembled with the highest degree of care and precision to provide a beautiful fit and finish.

While my current designs are of the hunting variety, utility and every day carry (EDC), I am in the process of designing a kitchen cutlery line that will be available in 2018.

Most my knives are crafted from high carbon 01 tool steel with a variety of natural and man made handle materials. I will be happy to discuss any design or material options as my goal is for you to have a truly one of a kind hand crafted knife that you will be proud to own and use for a lifetime.

I also would like to give credit to Mr. David Bryson of Bar One Eleven Knives (bareoneelevenknives.com) for all the help and guidance over the last few years. Without his direction and help, I would not be producing the quality of knife that I am today. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, shop tools while I was getting mine set up.

Thank you for your interest in my knives.
